Four days connecting two of Kenya's most rewarding wildlife destinations.

Day 1 Nairobi → Lake Nakuru
Day 2 Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara
Day 3 Full-Day Maasai Mara
Day 4 Maasai Mara → Nairobi
Day-by-Day Safari

4 Days / 3 Nights Safari Itinerary

One night at Lake Nakuru followed by two nights in Maasai Mara, with private game drives throughout the safari.

Day 01

Nairobi → Lake Nakuru National Park

Great Rift Valley · Rhinos · Birdlife · Afternoon Game Drive

Your private safari begins with collection from your Nairobi hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport according to your confirmed arrangements.

Meet your professional driver-guide and depart Nairobi in your private 4x4 Safari Land Cruiser, travelling northwest toward the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy the changing scenery as the route descends into one of East Africa's most remarkable geological landscapes.

Continue toward Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for your first game-viewing experience according to the day's schedule.

Lake Nakuru is especially celebrated for its rhino conservation programme. Both black and white rhinos occur in the park, making it an important destination for travellers hoping to encounter these magnificent animals.

The park also supports buffalo, giraffes, zebras, waterbuck, baboons and numerous other species. Lions may also be encountered, while leopards are present but naturally more elusive.

Explore the lake environment and surrounding habitats while looking for the park's diverse birdlife. Flamingo numbers vary according to ecological and seasonal conditions, so large concentrations cannot be guaranteed.

After your game drive, proceed to your selected lodge or camp for dinner and overnight in the Lake Nakuru area.

Day 1: Meals according to your confirmed safari package. Overnight in the Lake Nakuru area.
Day 02

Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara National Reserve

Morning Wildlife · Rift Valley · Maasai Country · Mara Game Drive

Enjoy breakfast before beginning the second stage of your safari. Depending on your confirmed programme, there may be additional wildlife viewing in the Lake Nakuru area before departure.

Leave Nakuru and travel through the Great Rift Valley toward Maasai Mara. The journey passes through changing highland and rural landscapes before continuing into the open country associated with the greater Mara ecosystem.

Arrive at your selected Maasai Mara lodge or tented camp for check-in and lunch according to your arrival schedule.

Later, depart on your first Maasai Mara game drive. The reserve is famous for its expansive savannah and extraordinary diversity of wildlife.

Search for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras and antelopes while keeping watch for the Mara's celebrated predators.

Lions are frequently associated with the open plains, cheetahs favour areas where they can use their extraordinary speed, and leopards may be encountered around suitable riverine and woodland habitats.

Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and your first overnight in Maasai Mara.

Day 2: Breakfast, lunch and dinner according to your confirmed package. First overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 03

Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari

Big Cats · Savannah Wildlife · Great Migration Ecosystem

After breakfast, dedicate the day to exploring Maasai Mara with your private driver-guide.

With no major transfer required today, you have significantly more time to follow wildlife movements and explore different areas according to current sightings and conditions.

Search for lions, leopards and cheetahs alongside elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs and a remarkable variety of antelopes and other plains game.

Because this is a private safari, the day's game-viewing programme can be adapted around your interests. Wildlife photographers may wish to spend longer at promising sightings, while first-time safari travellers may prefer to explore a broader range of habitats.

During the seasonal Great Migration, large herds of wildebeest and zebra may be present within the greater Mara ecosystem. Their movements depend on rainfall, grazing conditions and other natural factors.

Mara River crossings are among the migration's most dramatic events, but they are spontaneous wildlife events and cannot be scheduled or guaranteed.

Depending on your confirmed arrangements, enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve or return to your lodge or camp before continuing with afternoon game viewing.

Return for dinner and your second overnight in Maasai Mara.

Day 3: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Second overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 04

Maasai Mara → Nairobi

Final Safari Morning · Great Rift Valley · Nairobi

Enjoy breakfast during your final morning in Maasai Mara.

Depending on your confirmed departure schedule, there may be an opportunity for final game viewing before leaving the reserve and beginning the return journey to Nairobi.

Morning wildlife activity can provide another opportunity to search for predators and plains game while enjoying the cooler atmosphere of the Mara.

Leave Maasai Mara and travel back through the Kenyan countryside and Great Rift Valley toward Nairobi.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, your driver-guide will transfer you to your confirmed hotel, residence or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Your four-day private Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara safari concludes in Nairobi after experiencing two distinctly different Kenyan wildlife ecosystems.

Day 4: Breakfast and other meals according to your confirmed package. Final drop-off in Nairobi.
