Four Extraordinary Kenya Safari Destinations

This six-day private safari creates an exceptional cross-country journey from Diani Beach to Nairobi through four of Kenya's most distinctive wildlife destinations.

Your adventure begins in Tsavo West National Park, a dramatically beautiful wilderness of volcanic landscapes, wooded hills, lava formations and natural springs.

Unlike the broad red-earth plains of Tsavo East, Tsavo West offers a more rugged environment where wildlife moves through dense bush, open valleys and volcanic terrain.

A visit to Mzima Springs provides another dimension to the experience. Crystal-clear underground water emerges into a lush oasis that supports hippos, crocodiles, fish and numerous bird species.

From Tsavo West, travel to Amboseli National Park, internationally famous for its elephants and extraordinary views toward Mount Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli's permanent wetlands attract elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and many other animals, while predators including lions and cheetahs inhabit the surrounding plains.

The journey then continues north through Kenya toward Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley.

Lake Nakuru is particularly important for rhino conservation and provides opportunities to search for both white and black rhinos. The park is also associated with flamingos and abundant birdlife.

The final major destination is the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife ecosystems.

Here, sweeping savannahs support lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles and many other species.

After exploring the Maasai Mara, continue directly to Nairobi, completing a remarkable six-day journey from Kenya's Indian Ocean coast to the capital.

From the volcanic wilderness of Tsavo West to elephants beneath Kilimanjaro, Rift Valley rhinos and the predator-rich Maasai Mara, this safari showcases four completely different sides of Kenya.

Day02

Tsavo West → Mzima Springs → Amboseli National Park

Mzima Springs · Volcanic Landscapes · Kilimanjaro Country

Begin the morning with breakfast before checking out of your Tsavo West accommodation.

Continue wildlife viewing as you travel through the park toward Mzima Springs.

Mzima Springs is one of Tsavo West's most celebrated natural attractions. Millions of litres of clear underground water emerge here daily, creating a lush oasis within the surrounding dry landscape.

Explore the designated visitor area and search for hippos and crocodiles around the spring system.

The surrounding vegetation also supports abundant birdlife and smaller wildlife species.

Continue through Tsavo West and travel toward Amboseli National Park.

As you approach Amboseli, the landscape opens into broad plains and wetlands dominated by the presence of Mount Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania.

Enter Amboseli and begin game viewing en route to your confirmed safari lodge or camp.

Search for elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffes, gazelles, lions and cheetahs.

When weather conditions permit, Kilimanjaro provides a spectacular background to the Amboseli landscape.

Continue your wildlife experience before settling into your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overnight at your confirmed Amboseli safari lodge or camp.
Day03

Amboseli → Lake Nakuru National Park

Early mornings can also offer favourable conditions for views toward Mount Kilimanjaro when the mountain is free of cloud.

Return to your lodge or camp for breakfast before checking out.

Begin the journey north toward Lake Nakuru National Park in Kenya's Great Rift Valley.

The drive connects two completely different wildlife environments and reveals changing landscapes as you travel through Kenya.

Arrive at Lake Nakuru and begin exploring this compact but wildlife-rich national park.

Lake Nakuru is internationally recognised for rhino conservation, with both white and black rhinos occurring within the protected area.

Search for rhinos as well as buffalo, giraffes, antelopes and numerous bird species.

Flamingos may also be encountered around the lake, although numbers vary according to natural water and feeding conditions.

Continue game viewing before proceeding to your confirmed lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overnight at your confirmed Lake Nakuru safari lodge or camp.
Day04

Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara National Reserve

Great Rift Valley · Mara Plains · Afternoon Game Drive

As you approach the Mara ecosystem, the landscape opens into the rolling grasslands that have made this region one of Africa's most famous wildlife destinations.

Arrive at your confirmed Maasai Mara lodge or tented camp around lunchtime, subject to road conditions.

Check in and enjoy lunch followed by some time to relax.

Later, depart for your first afternoon game drive across the Maasai Mara plains.

The reserve supports an extraordinary diversity and concentration of wildlife.

Search for lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles and numerous other species.

Your professional driver-guide follows wildlife movements and recent sightings to maximise your game-viewing opportunities.

Continue exploring until late afternoon before returning to your lodge or camp.

Enjoy dinner and your first overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Day 4: Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overnight at your confirmed Maasai Mara lodge or tented camp.
Day05

Full Day Exploring the Maasai Mara

Big Cats · Mara River · Picnic Lunch · Extensive Game Drive

Day 5 is dedicated to exploring the Maasai Mara, providing an extensive wildlife experience across this legendary reserve.

Begin early when temperatures are cooler and many animals remain active.

Search for lions, cheetahs and other predators as they move through the grasslands.

Elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebra, wildebeest, gazelles and numerous other herbivores inhabit the surrounding plains.

With a packed picnic lunch, travel deeper into the reserve and explore different wildlife areas according to seasonal conditions and animal movements.

Continue toward the Mara River area, an important part of the Maasai Mara ecosystem.

Hippos and Nile crocodiles inhabit the river, while numerous other species use the surrounding riverine habitat.

During the annual migration period, enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra may enter the greater Mara ecosystem.

Migration movements and river crossings are completely natural events, however, and cannot be guaranteed on any particular date.

Enjoy your picnic lunch at an appropriate location within the reserve before continuing your afternoon wildlife exploration.

The full-day format provides greater flexibility to follow wildlife and explore areas farther from your accommodation.

Return to your lodge or tented camp later in the day for dinner and your second overnight in the Maasai Mara.

Day 5: Breakfast, packed picnic lunch and dinner. Second overnight at your confirmed Maasai Mara lodge or tented camp.
